Does SupaSoft itch? Do I need protective gear to handle it?

No. SupaSoft is completely itch-free and safe to handle without gloves or protective clothing. You can fit it comfortably and stress-free.

Note: We do recommend wearing a simple dust mask if you are working in tight, enclosed spaces like a loft.

How many bottles are in a single pack?

There are roughly 800 recycled plastic bottles packed into every single pack. That breaks down to about 136.7 bottles saved for every square meter you choose to insulate with SupaSoft.

Why do my compressed rolls look a bit thin right after unpacking?

SupaSoft is compressed during packaging to reduce plastic wrap waste and lower shipping carbon. The internal binder relaxes and expands faster in warm temperatures. While it expands in just a couple of weeks during summer, it can take up to 6 weeks in dry winter weather – though once laid, the natural heat from your home will quickly help it reach its full, thick design depth.

How does SupaSoft help the environment?

Diverts Plastic Waste: A typical SupaSoft loft project saves nearly 12,000 single use plastic bottles from going to landfills, oceans, or incinerators.

Lowers Carbon Footprint: By stopping plastic packaging from being burned (which releases fossil CO2) and trapping heat in your home, it actively fights climate change.

Reduces Eco-Impact: It is 100% recyclable at the end of its life, and because it is compressed for shipping, it takes less transport space.

How long will SupaSoft last?

SupaSoft is made to last for the entire lifetime of your building. Because the binding fibres are made from durable polyester, the insulation will not degrade, sag, or slump over time. It has a lifespan of at least 60 years.

Where else can SupaSoft be used besides lofts?

SupaSoft can be used for insulating lofts, floors, sheds and vans. However, it should not be used in masonry cavity walls (e.g. the gap inside brick-and-block walls), and it cannot be installed below a building’s damp proof course (DPC).

Note that SupaSoft is not classified as non-combustible and must not be used where non-combustible materials are legally mandated.

We are hugely impressed that the insulation is made from recycled PPE bottles. We are happy that we are removing materials from the landfill and giving them another life. Because SupaSoft is the same material you find in clothing or pillows it’s also non-irritating. This means it’s much nicer for our install teams to work with. No gloves or protective equipment is needed when we install it. Lastly, we feel it works incredibly well. SupaSoft has fantastic insulating properties that keeps our garden rooms cool in the summer months and warm in winter.

Easy to handle

I insulated my loft with SupaSoft. It was easy to install and my home immediately felt warmer. Not too expensive and much better to use than fibreglass. No irritation and no gloves needed.

I bought 5 rolls of recycled plastic insulation. It arrived in just a few days, and is great to use – my loft is a much nicer place to be now without all the particles of glass fibre floating around.

Have use the Supasoft insulation for 2 houses. Very pleasant to handle. I assume it does as good a job or better than the old-fashioned mineral wool stuff.

I have bought numerous pallets of Supasoft insulation, the products are more expensive than standard insulations but my clients are normally happy to absorb the extra cost to use a recycled material.
